I remember fishing with my father, walking down dirt paths to the rivers edge, watching the sunrise as Caddis flies danced in the morning light. Ever since then I have been drawn to the river.
Several years ago we moved to Colorado from Connecticut where I had a very successful picture framing and gallery business. It was here in Colorado amongst the endless rivers, that I came up with an idea.
I wanted to find a way to combine my
love of fishing with my creative talents
as a picture framer. I solicited the help
of my friend James Carter, a renowned
New England artist to create the trout
images. I have re-created the river maps
in a classical pen and ink style on antique
parchment paper, and have incorporated
shadow-boxed flies to complete the
presentation. Each piece is handsomely
framed in a rich walnut stained frame,
and matted in a color that compliments
the piece.
I hope you enjoy the pieces, hopefully purchase one or two, and can make it to some of
these rivers.
